COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, JANUARY 5, 2015
CALL TO ORDER
The January 5, 2015, City Council “Pre-Meeting” was convened at 5:48 P.M. by
Mayor Eric Struemph.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Branch, Costales, Graham, Henry, Hussey, Mihalevich,
Prather, Scrivner, and Ward
Absent: None
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Nominations of Ward Five Council Member
Councilman Henry stated he is prepared to make a motion to suspend Section
12-18 of the Code tonight to allow the nomination, election, and seating of a
Ward 5 Council Member tonight to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of
Councilman Ralph Bray.
Consent Agenda
Councilman Costales stated that he planned to request that Item C of the
Consent Agenda (renewal of Chamber of Commerce agreement) be removed
from the Consent Agenda for discussion and consideration. Mayor Struemph
asked City Counselor Drew Hilpert to advise the procedure to remove that item.
Mr. Hilpert stated it requires two Council Members to remove an item from the
Consent Agenda for separate consideration.
