Watch Out for Pedestrians!
Georgia Law requires that you STOP for pedestrians in marked cross walks. If someone is trying to cross in a marked sidewalk, you must stop. It is illegal to pass a car stopped at a
crosswalk – you must assume that a pedestrian is crossing. The speed limit on Butler Avenue is 30 MPH.
Helpful Money-Saving Items at City Hall
The City Hall Cashier’s Desk has a number of free or low-cost items to help you save hassle and money. Water displacement bags, to cut water use in your toilet, are free. Easy-to-install
outdoor and indoor, low-flow showerheads are available for $5.61 ($6 with sales tax). Hose-bibs securely lock your outdoor water faucet to prevent unauthorized water use. To help keep
your recycling materials from blowing all over the neighborhood or getting soaked in the rain, lids for recycling bins are also available at no charge.
Help Tybee. Be Counted.
Census workers continue to visit homes during the month of June. Either through error, lost mail, or because a paper form wasn’t filed for your household, they may be visiting your home.
Remember, Census workers will not ask to be let in, and they will not ask for your banking or Social Security information. Call the Census Bureau Atlanta office at (888) 586-9439 if
you question the identity of someone claiming to be from the Census.
Online Bill and Parking Ticket Payments
Online payments are now working fully for both parking tickets and for City utility bill payments. Payments may be made by clicking the “Online Payments” link from any City web page.
Parking tickets are paid by keying in your car’s license information. To pay utility bills, you will need to create a login, and you will need to verify your account number and the
amount of your last monthly bill to confirm your ownership of the account. You will also be able to review your utility usage history, confirm payments, and monitor multiple accounts
if you have more than one.
