Watch Out for Pedestrians!
Georgia Law requires that you STOP for someone trying to cross in a marked crosswalk. It is illegal to pass a car stopped at a crosswalk – you must assume that a pedestrian is crossing.
Speed limit on Butler is 30 MPH.
PORTABLE UNVENTED HEATERS – COMMERCIAL PROPERTY
To ensure public safety, the City requires compliance with the Georgia State Amendments to the International Fire Code, which prohibit storage or use of a portable outdoor gas-fired
heating unit in a building or tent or on an exterior balcony when the unit is connected to a fuel gas container. Additional restrictions, including proximity to buildings and exits,
are also enforced. Please contact (912) 786-4573, x114, if you would like a copy of the Amendments or for any questions.
A violation of regulations are subject to a minimum penalty of $500.00. Continuance of a violation shall be considered a separate and distinct offense for every day that the violation
is continued.
Note that free parking stickers for residents require proof you have paid the ad valorem tax. This information only appears on the left side of the registration/receipt that you receive
at the Tag Office. You must bring both sides if you wish to obtain free parking for vehicles registered at Tybee addresses.
Save Time – Pay Online
Utility bills are due on the 20th each month. We find that many people try to call or stop by City Hall on that day to pay their utility bills, which leads to long lines at the Cashiers
Desk and long hold times on the telephone. You can save yourself time and hassle by signing up to pay your bills online – look for the “Online Payments” link on any web page – or for
automatic bill pay from your bank - by filling out and returning the ACH (automated clearing house) form which can be obtained at City Hall or on the web at Downloads > Forms > Utility
Bill Automatic Debit Form. You’ll need to have copies of your previous bills and banking or credit account information to sign up for these services.
If you need help, or are already signed up but have forgotten your status, password or login information, you can call City Hall at 912-786-4573 and dial x110 to speak with Nalene Conway,
the utility billing clerk, or x126 to speak with Michael Bodine in IT for any questions or assistance!

…the relevant item must be on the Agenda. To get on the agenda, file the Agenda Request form with the City Clerk by noon, Wednesday, eight days prior to Council Meetings! Visit City
Hall or the web for a copy of the form.
