Tybee For the Holidays
Tybee for the Holidays is back this year. Jointly sponsored by the City and the Better Hometown program, the Tybee Island Tourism Council, and the Tybee Historical Society, various decorating
events, celebrations, parades and special offers from local businesses can be found at www.tybeefortheholidays.com.
The staff at all City departments wish you and yours a great holiday season. Everyone drive and fly safely! Peace and goodwill to everyone on Tybee and around the world!
Construction Updates
Catamount Construction is wrapping up the first phase of the environmental retrofits on City buildings around Memorial Park. All thermostats are centrally controlled with automatic reductions
during hours the buildings are not in use, additional insulation, and the ground measurement under way to add geothermal equipment to heating and cooling systems in all the buildings.
Work continues to bring the first phase to a close, include the circulating fan in the CH Auditorium, refurbishing external doors to hold the heat/cool better against outdoor elements.
DPW has finished two new crossovers to the beaches at East Gate and 13th Street this off-season. The 14th Street Drainage project has also been completed.
2010 Mayors’ Motorcade
The Mayors’ Motorcade for Georgia Regional Hospital will be on Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Donations of new unwrapped gift items for men and women are needed. Recommended items are
listed below and will be posted in City Hall and on our website. Donations can be dropped in the barrel at City Hall starting Nov. 1st. All donations are greatly appreciated.
