View the City Calendar at www.cityoftyee.org. November 8th General Election Polling places are at the Guard House on Van Horne at Campbell and at the Old School Cafeteria on 5th Street. Polls are open from 7AM until 7PM. The Mayor and the top three vote-getters for City Council will be serving four year terms; the next three vote-getters on Council will serve only two years, and their seats will be open for four year terms for that election. Tybee for the Holidays Events After spending much time planning throughout the year, Tybee for the Holidays begins Thanksgiving Day. A preview of the first few events: LIGHTS ON FOR TYBEE - December 2: 6:30pm at the Tybrisa / Strand Roundabout - A kickoff celebration for the Holidays with the lighting of the Tybee Tree, singing, dancing and more! The Park of Seven Flags will be transformed into the PARK OF GIVING starting this evening throughout the weekend in conjunction with the shop-n-stroll & parade. Donations will be accepted & appreciated for Toys for Tots, Mayor’s Motorcade, Tybee’s Rising Tyde Food Pantry, and the Milton Project. TYBEE ISLAND CHRISTMAS PARADE - December 3: 1:00pm – begins in the 14th Street Lot, travels up Tybrisa, north on Butler, and ends at the YMCA for kids to have time with Santa and enjoy fun activities in the gym. Parade applications are due by November 25. More information is at www.tybeefortheholidays.com! Hurricane Season Continues Until Nov 30 While the tourist and turtle nesting seasons have come to a close, the last few weeks of hurricane season can still be very active. Be sure to keep your all-hazard radio at the ready and to watch the City’s web site, NOAA’s Hurricane Center, or whatever your favorite source of information to make sure you don’t get off-guard by a later storm! STOP for All Pedestrians in Crosswalk! Tourists or no, Georgia Law requires that you STOP for pedestrians at all crosswalks and remember Butler Ave is 30 MPH from the Curve all the way to Tybrisa. Tybee-Savannah Shuttle Service Schedule Departs Savannah Visitors Center: 10am, 11am, 2pm & 5pm Departs Tybrisa/Strand Roundabout: 30 minutes later Departs North Beach Lot: 15 minutes after Roundabout and returns to Savannah Visitors Center Cost is $3 each way; driver cannot make change! Third Thursdays on Tybee Continues Harry O’Donoghue will perform 5-6 PM for Third Thursdays on Tybee on November 17th at the Tybrisa/Strand Roundabout. Enjoy the music, the beach, continuing cooler temperatures, the shops, and the quiet backdrop of the south end! CONGRATULATIONS! Mayor Jason and Jody Buelterman have a new baby girl addition to the family! Congratulations from the City! To Address City Council …about an existing agenda item, please ask to be recognized during public comments. To get on the agenda, file an Agenda Request with the City Clerk by noon, Wednesday, eight days prior to the Meeting! Council meets 2nd & 4th Thursday, 7PM, each month. Visit City Hall or our web site for a copy of the form. If you are speaking or presenting to Council, please be aware you must provide a copy of your presentation 48 hours in advance to the Clerk or to IT staff at City Hall!
