Summer Pedestrians and Bikes! Cycling on Butler or Jones is dangerous! If cycling on Tybee, please use the 2nd Avenue bike route. If you are driving, remember, cyclists have all the rights of a motor vehicle - you MUST provide 3’ from the nearest cyclist when passing! Georgia State Law requires that you STOP for any pedestrians crossing or trying to cross at any marked cross walks. It is illegal as well to pass a car stopped at a crosswalk – you must assume a pedestrian is crossing. Remember, the speed limit on Butler Ave is 30 MPH from the Curve to Tybrisa. Online Utility Billing is Here! Paperless utility billing is now available. Sign up by sending email to utilitybilling@cityoftybee.org. Include your name, account, phone number, and email. Visit the City’s web site article “Opt-in to Electronic Utility Billing” - click there for an email form. Alternatively, you may contact Nalene Conway at 472.5025 to sign up. Pay your utility bill online with a credit card (look for the “Online Payments” link on the left), or with an automatic debit application (download from the “Downloads > Forms” link). Watering Restrictions Remain in Effect Despite the end of drought conditions, the State has left watering restrictions in effect throughout Georgia. Daily watering of plants is allowed only between the hours of 4PM and 10AM. Outdoor water use for any purposes other than watering of plants, such as power washing or washing cars, is still restricted to the current odd/even watering schedule. Odd-numbered addresses can water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Even-numbered and unnumbered addresses are allowed to water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Such uses are prohibited on Fridays. Citizens’ Tuesday with the City Manager City Manager Diane Schleicher sets aside the first Tuesday, monthly, 7-8 pm, to discuss Tybee topics of concern to you. However, there will be no session on July 3rd. Please call Sharon Shaver, CM assistant, at 472.5072 for your appointment.
