AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1996 BUDGET
WHEREAS Common council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, has previously
adopted a budget for calendar year 1996; and,
WHEREAS
Ordinance No. 4-1996 reorganized the executive departments of city
government; and,
WHEREAS
Ordinance No. 5-1996 amended the 1996 Salary Ordinance by
creating new positions and setting new minimum salaries for various
positions; and,
WHEREAS
the above changes are revenue neutral, however, in order to fund
the changes it is necessary to amend the 1996 budget based upon the
fact that some of the monies are being transferred between different
departments and between different funds, which by law is
considered as an additional appropriation; and,
WHEREAS
the procedure herein to amend the 1996 budget is allowable by law
pursuant to the terms of I.C. 6-1.1-18-5, provided public hearing is
held and legal notice is given; and,
WHEREAS
a public hearing was conducted February 20, 1996, as required for
additional appropriations pursuant to legal notice of such hearing
published February 10, 1996, in compliance with Indiana Code 5-3-
1-2(b),
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, that the 1996 budget be amended as set forth in attached Exhibit A.
Passed and adopted this 20th day of February 1996, by the Common Council of the City of
Richmond, Indiana.
