Cycling on Butler or Jones is dangerous! If cycling on Tybee, please use the 2nd Ave bike route. If you are driving, keep in mind that cyclists have all the rights of a motor vehicle, and you MUST provide 3’ from the nearest cyclist when passing! You must STOP for any pedestrians crossing or trying to cross at any marked crosswalks. It is illegal to pass a car stopped at a crosswalk – you must assume a pedestrian is crossing. Remember, the speed limit on Butler Ave is 30 MPH from the Curve to Tybrisa. Let your out-of-town guests and friends know! Reminder Regarding Yard Waste Yard waste is treated differently than garbage throughout the waste cycle. Please follow these steps: All waste is picked up on your first weekly pickup day – this includes yard waste, recycling and garbage. Your second pickup is for garbage alone Yard waste should be neatly stacked next to the curb. Clippings and leaves should be in waterproof bags or paper bags kept dry until picked up. Palm cuttings and tree branches should be piled and tied in bundles no more than 4 ft. x 4 ft. x 4 ft. Service is limited to a total of five (5) cubic yards per service address per week. You may call WastePro directly at 912-965-0777. However, we recommend using the online method: if you have any requests or complaints regarding WastePro services, please use our online forms at http://www.cityoftybee.org – click the “Recycling and Waste” icon at the top of the page.
