AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
CHAPTER 10.28 OF THE BEAUMONT MUNICIPAL CODE
ENTITLED ENFORCEMENT
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Beaumont,
State of California, as follows:
Section 1: Section 10.28.050 of Chapter 10.28 of the
Municipal Code is hereby repealed in its entirety.
Section 2: New Section 10.28.050 of Chapter 10.28 is
added to the Beaumont Municipal Code to read as follows:

10.28.050 Penalty. Any person convicted of a violation of
this Chapter shall be: (1) guilty of an infraction offense and
punished by a fine notexceeding one hundred dollars ($100.00)
for a first violation; (2) guilty of an infraction offense and
punished by a fine notexceeding two hundred dollars ($200.00)
for a second violation. The third and any additional
violations shall constitute a misdemeanor offense punishable by
a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or six
(6) months in jail, or both. Notwithstanding the above, the
first offense may be charged and prosecuted as a misdemeanor.
THIS ORDINANCE IS APPROVED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT on this 28th day of March
2000, by the following vote:
AYES: Mayor Berg, Council Members DeForge, Dressel, and Zeller.
NOES: None.
ABSTAIN: None.
ABSENT: Council Member Westcot.
