AN UNCODIFIED ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BEAUMONT,CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING A ZONE CHANGE
TO PRE -ZONE 62.28 ACRES OF LAND FROM
COUNTY OF RIVERSIDE W-2 (CONTROLLED DEVELOPMENT)
TO CITY OF BEAUMONT R -A (RESIDENTIAL -AGRICULTURE)
(ANNEXATION NO. 01-ANX-01)
WHEREAS, the City of Beaumont has initiated the annexation of a 62.28 acre County
unincorporated island area pursuant to the Cortese -Knox -Hertzberg Local Government
Reorganization Act of 2000 and Sections 56375.3 and 56375(d) thereof, and said Act requires that
properties which are to be annexed to a City shall be pre -zoned prior to annexation; and
WHEREAS, the current zoning designation of the subject site under the administration of
Riverside County is W-2 (Controlled Development), permitting development of land uses which are
consistent with existing residential uses in the subject area; and
WHEREAS, duly noticed public hearings were conducted on this matter as required by law
by the Planning Commission on November 13, 2001 and the City Council on December 4, 2001, and
the Planning Commission, at its public hearing, recommended that the City Council approve the
proposed pre -zoning.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The Official Zoning Map of the City of Beaumont is hereby amended to
designate the subject property legally described in attached Exhibit "A" for the following zoning
designation:
R -A (RESIDENTIAL -AGRICULTURE)
SECTION 2: This Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its final passage and
within fifteen (15) days after its passage the City Clerk shall cause a summary to be published in a
newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Beaumont, in a manner
prescribed by law for publishing of ordinances of said City.

SECTION 3: The City zoning designations for the subject area shall become effective upon
the recordation of the annexation by the Riverside County Local Agency Formation Commission.

Ayes: Mayor Berg, Council Member DeForge, Dressel, Fox, and Valdivia.
Noes: None.
Abstain: None.
