REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING, JANUARY 20, 2015
CALL TO ORDER
The Regular Council Meeting of January 20, 2015, was convened at 6:00 P.M. by
Mayor Eric Struemph.
ROLL CALL
The following Council Members were present for the roll call:

Prather, Scrivner, and Ward
Absent: None
A quorum was declared present.
ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA
Councilman Mihalevich made a motion to adopt the agenda as published, seconded by
Councilman Prather, and approved unanimously.

PRESENTATIONS FROM STAFF, CONSULTANTS, AND INVITED GUESTS
Mr. Bill Lockwood, Director of Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department, gave a brief
update on the ongoing discussions with Lincoln University concerning partnering with
them on a multipurpose building.

At the conclusion of Mr. Lockwood’s presentation, Mayor Struemph asked City
Administrator Crowell and City Counselor Hilpert to look into the cost of renovating the
current Parks and Recreation Department office space for use as a Municipal
Courtroom if Parks and Recreation staff should relocate to the new multipurpose
building in the future.
ANNOUNCEMENTS BY THE MAYOR, COUNCIL, AND STAFF
Mayor Struemph made comments regarding Special Olympics of Missouri’s
announcement earlier in the day that their organization will locate its training facility in
Jefferson City. He congratulated and thanked all involved in this important
accomplishment and stated the facility is estimated to provide $1million in salaries and
$1million in tourism dollars to the City’s economy.

Mayor Struemph stated that the following items were presented to the Council for their

– Fire Dept.
A motion was made by Councilman Scrivner to approve the Consent Agenda as
presented, seconded by Councilman Costales, and approved unanimously.

organization.
