ORDINANCE NO. a4
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTER
OF THE BEAUMONT MUNICIPAL CODE, "NUISANCE"
Portable Basketball Hoops
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a number of citizen complaints
proliferation of portable basketball hoops placed in City streets, on City sidewalks,
and other public rights-of-way;
WHEREAS, the City Code Enforcement Officer has informed the City Co
basketball hoops are often left in place and constitute an unsafe impediment to mot
pedestrian traffic, thereby creating a hazardous condition and a threat to public saf
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
BEAUMONT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Section 8.32.235, entitled "Basketball Hoops" is hereby added t
Nuisances, of the City of Beaumont Municipal Code:
"Section 8.32.035 Portable Basketball Hoops.- Portable basketbal
public rights-of-way including, but not limited to, streets, alleys and sidew
temporarily or otherwise, are declared a public nuisance."
Section 2: This Ordinance shall take effect as provided by law.
