HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 898ORDINANCE NO. 898 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, CALIFORNIA ADDING SECTIONS 10.08.050, 10.08.060, 10.08.070, 10.08.080, 10.08.090 AND 10.08.100 TO THE BEAUMONT MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING MOTOR VEHICLE PARKING REGULATIONS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEAUMONT, RIVERESIDE COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN Section 1: The following provisions are hereby added to Chapter 10.08 "Parking" to read as specifically provided for in Exhibit "A", which Exhibit is attached hereto and made a part hereof: Section 10.08.050 Section 10.08.060 Section 10.08.070 Section 10.08.080 Section 10.08.090 Section 10.08.100 Designation of "No Parking at Any Time" Areas on Civic and Community Center Site Parking within Designated Stalls Only on Civic and Community Center Site Authorizing Reserved Parking Spaces for Emergency/Police Vehicles on Shopping Center Sites Prohibition Against Parking Within Open Space Yard Areas Prohibition Against Parking on City Right -of -Way Adjacent to Pavement Severability Section 2: This Ordinance shall take effect as provided by law. CITY OF BEAUMONT By (SEAL) duly introduced 7/18 , 2006, and call votes indicated 2 Sections: Section 10.08.050 Section 10.08.060 Section 10.08.070 Section 10.08.080 Section 10.08.090 Section 10.08.100 Section 10.08.050 CHAPTER 10.08 PARKING Designation of "No Parking at Any Time" Areas on Civic and Community Center Site Parking within Designated Stalls Only on Civic and Community Center Sites Authorizing Reserved Parking Spaces for Emergency/Police Vehicles on Shopping Center Properties Prohibition Against Parking Within Open Space Yard Areas Prohibition Against Parking on City Right -of -Way Adjacent to Pavement Severability Designation of "No Parking at Any Time" Areas on Civic and Community center Site It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle in any area of City Hall property designated with signs prohibiting parking at any time in such areas. Section 10.08.060 Parking within Designated Stalls Only on Civic and Community Center Site It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle on top of or across pavement markings that designate parking stalls. Parking shall only be permitted within such designated stalls on City Hall property. Authorizing Reserved Parking Spaces for Emergency/Police Vehicles on Shopping Center Properties It shall be unlawful for any person to park a privately -owned vehicle in any parking space within commercial and retail centers, including shopping centers, that is designated by a sign or other marking as being reserved solely for parking emergency and police vehicles. Section 10.08.080 Prohibition Against Parking Within Open Space Yard Areas It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle within front yard or side yard open space areas and landscaped areas including, without limitation, lawns and groundcover. Section 10.08.070 1 Section 10.08.090 Prohibition Against Parking on City Right-of-Way Adjacent to Pavement It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle on the unpaved portion of any City- owned right-of-way adjacent to the paved portion of a public street. Section 10.08.100 Severability If any provision of this ordinance or the applicability thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid, that invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid portion or application, and to that end the provisions of this ordinance are severable. 2
