A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH ROBERT D. NIEHAUS, INC. FOR ADDITIONAL WATER
AND SEWER RATE STUDY ANALYSIS FOR A NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF
$11,050
WHEREAS, On December 20, 2022, the City Council approved an
agreement with Robert D. Niehaus, Inc. (RDN) to review and prepare a Water and
Sewer Rate Study; and
WHEREAS, recommendations were developed utilizing the City's
customer usage data, billing records, accounting, operating and management
records, capital improvement plan, debt ratios, and reserve policies; and
WHEREAS, RDN's recommendations were presented on June 6, 2023,
August 15, 2023, and November 7, 2023; and
WHEREAS , staff has requested that the City of Lynwood 2023 Water and
Sewer Rate Study be reviewed by RDN to provide additional rate options for
consideration and include the benefits and long-term financial risks; and
WHEREAS, the additional costs for those services will be a not -to -exceed
amount of $11,050; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends approval of the amendment to the original
agreement with RDN to provide the requested services.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and
declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporates them
herein as findings and as substantive part of this resolution.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood approves and
authorizes the Mayor to amend the professional services agreement between the
City of Lynwood and Robert D. Niehaus, Inc. attached hereto as Exhibit A, in a
form approved by the City Attorney, for the additional Water and Sewer Rate
Study review and recommendations for an additional $11,050.
Section 3. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on
behalf of the City of Lynwood.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
adoption.
