A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO RELEASE A
NOTICE INVITING BIDS FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 4011.67.928
WATER DIVISION OFFICE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood Public Works Yard has multiple divisions within
the Department of Public Works housed in the facility located at 11750 Alameda Street
in Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, the current layout and design of the building is not conducive to
productivity and interaction between divisions and the public; and
WHEREAS, redesign of the City of Lynwood Water Division Offices within the
Public Works Administrative Building began in January 2021 with the concept to
relocate the customer service area to better facilitate interactions between public works
staff and the public; and
WHEREAS, the design and engineering calculations are complete; and
WHEREAS, the water division office improvements incorporate the relocation of
the customer service area from the water division side and also includes the creation of
cohesive administrative spaces that will provide more adequate use of the underutilized
current layout which will increase productivity and interaction between departments; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council authorize the issuance of a
Notice Inviting Bids to obtain bids from qualified contractors to complete the Water
Division Office Improvement Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares
that the foregoing recitals are true and correct, and incorporates them herein as findings
and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. That the City Council approve both the plans and specifications for
the Water Division Office Improvement Project.
Section 3. That the City Council authorizes staff to release a Notice Inviting
Bids (NIB) for the Water Division Office Improvement Project.
Section 4. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on behalf of
the City of Lynwood.
