A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY METROPOLITAN
TRANSIT AUTHORITY FOR THE SAFE STREETS AND ROADS FOR ALL PROGRAM
FUNDS, FUNDING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE LYNWOOD VISION ZERO ACTION
PLAN.
WHEREAS, On February 1, 2023, the United States Department of
Transportation ("USDOT") announced the grant award under the fiscal year (FY) 2022
"Safe Streets for All" (SS4A) program; and
WHEREAS, On August 22, 2023, a grant agreement by and between the
USDOT, the Federal Highway Administration ("FHWA"), and the Los Angeles County
Metropolitan Transit Authority ("LACMTA") was executed designating LACMTA as the
recipient of FY 2022 SS4A funds to support the LACMTA Action Plan, which in part
provides $203,868 in funding to the City of Lynwood for the development of the
Lynwood Vision Zero Action Plan (the "Project"); and
WHEREAS, The Vision Zero Action Plan will identify priorities and strategies to
help the City of Lynwood reduce fatal collisions and injuries; and
WHEREAS, The City of Lynwood is receiving $203,868 from LACMTA and
needs to provide a local match of $50,967 per the funding agreement; and
WHEREAS, The total cost of work is estimated to be $254,835.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and declares
that the foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporates them herein as findings
and as a substantive part of this Resolution.
Section 2. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the City Manager
to execute the agreement between the City of Lynwood and "LACMTA".
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Lynwood authorizes the City Manager
to approve the transfer of funds for the following appropriation:
