TIPD-VIP TYBEE ISLAND ADULT GROUP
HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS
TIPD Chief Robert Bryson has created a new group propelled by adult residents giving back to each other - helping to accomplish whatever needs to be done for the comfort and companionship
of fellow residents. The YMCA has come on board to give their support, and our restaurants have come forward, too, giving their goods and support to this project.
Visit with your neighbors, and learn more about what we can do for our friends on the island.
Our ultimate goal is for a kinder, happier group of helpful neighbors on Tybee. If you are unable to attend, due to health or other needs, you are one of our more cherished VIP’s. We
are seeking to offer our help. If you are not needing help, we need you to help others, and if you need help getting the garbage out from your second story house, but have a need to
give back, well… we need you too!
Attend these monthly meetings with island restaurants contributing free lunches! Our next meeting is at the YMCA cafeteria on May 18th. All who wish to volunteer their help, please arrive
at 10am. Lunch is served at 11am.
For further questions, contact Chief Bryson directly at 912-472-5091. Come be our neighbor and bring a friend!
Donate your used ATHLETIC SHOES to the Tybee Y!!
Did you know that your old athletic shoes (running & soccer) can be re-purposed to help Y’s in developing nations (currently Ghana, West Africa) support themselves? A single pair of
used athletic shoes can also remove one ton of carbon from the atmosphere! Those dusty shoes in your closet have more power than you know! We want to help you harness that power by
supporting the MORE Foundation Group’s “Shoes to Trees” program. The proceeds enable MORE to send millions of tree seeds and training to less fortunate Y‘s overseas. The overseas Y’s
then plant a variety of trees, which in turn provides them food, fuel, fiber, and income from tree products. Instead of decomposing in landfills, one pair of your re-purposed used athletic
shoes can send 10 tree seeds to a Y overseas and removes one ton of carbon from the atmosphere! Bring in your used - but not abused - athletic shoes. (running and soccer, adult sizes
only 6 – 12.) Look for the collection box near the door. Local Action with a Global Reach!
To Address City Council
…about agenda items, please speak during public comments. To get on the agenda, file an Agenda Request with the City Clerk by noon, Wednesday, eight days prior to the Meeting! Council
meets 2nd & 4th Thursday, 7PM, each month. Visit City Hall or our web site to obtain the form. If you are presenting to Council, you must provide your presentation no less than 48 hours
in advance to Clerk or IT staff!
