Pedestrian and Bicycles State law requires you must stop at any marked intersection, with or without lights, if there is a pedestrian attempting to cross. It is illegal to pass a car stopped at a crosswalk – you must assume a pedestrian is crossing. Pedestrians PLEASE cross at marked crosswalks and always operate the lights. After pedestrians have cleared the intersection, vehicles August proceed without waiting for flashers to stop. Cycling on Butler or Jones is dangerous! Please, use the 2nd Ave bike route. Cyclists have all the responsibilities of vehicles, including stopping at stop signs! Cyclists also have all the rights of motor vehicles. Drivers MUST provide 3’ clearance when passing a bicyclist! Remember, the Butler Ave speed limit is 30 MPH from the Curve to Tybrisa. New Online Request Tracker In addition to our notification systems, our web site now also hosts the “Request Tracker”. Here you can lodge complaints about waste or recycling pick-up, potholes, utility service issues, parking, downed trees, dumping, ADA problems, and other issues. Start at our “Report a Problem” page, which also lists contact numbers for power, streetlights and other problems. If you don’t already have a login, you’ll need to register to file your form and to make sure we can contact you with questions or to notify you of completion. Having a system like this will allow us to track resolutions and make sure complaints are handled in a timely manner. Give it a try at http://www.cityoftybee.org/346/Report-a-problem.
