After pedestrians have cleared the intersection, vehicles may proceed without waiting for flashers to stop. Cycling on Butler or Jones is dangerous! Please use 2nd Ave bike route. Cyclists have all responsibilities of vehicles, including stopping at stop signs! Cyclists also have all rights of motor vehicles. Drivers MUST provide 3’ clearance when passing a cyclist! Remember, the Butler Ave speed limit is 30 MPH from the Curve to Tybrisa. Events not happening in December: The second City Council meeting does not occur during the regularly scheduled time in December, due to the holidays. There is often a special called meeting during the month to handle last minute business cropping up and/or a council workshop. Watch the City Calendar page for announcements. Or, better, sign up for automatic notifications at http://cityoftybee.org/list.aspx. TIPD VIP Luncheon does not take place during December. The Public Safety Committee meeting, which would normally be during the holiday weekends this month will also typically be rescheduled, but you’ll need to watch the calendar for an announcement during the month! Tybee for the Holidays Tybee for the Holidays kicked off Thanksgiving weekend and runs through New Year’s Day! The month long celebration of the holiday season includes a variety of activities like parades, giving events, best decorated business awards, holiday shows, etc. Many local restaurants will be open on holiday days so you can get out of the kitchen! Community of Caring donation locations this year include Caldwell’s Cottage, The Deck, Inferno, Justabreeze, Kelly & Co, River’s End, Sand Bar, TS Chu’s, Tybee Teeth, Wet Willie’s, and the Y. Donations of food will go to Rising TYde, toys go to Memorial Children’s Hospital, and pet supplies to the Animal Shelter. Our guide to the holidays is at http://tybeefortheholidays.com. Also, annual Mayor’s Motorcade donations can be made at the City Clerk’s office at City Hall. The Motorcade happens earlier in December, so make your donations early! Only Rain Down the Drain!
