RE: LIG/MEG items
The laptops in use at Hatch are more than four years at this point. They need to be replaced with much
more robust machines that can handle the various needs of our makers. Liz has recommended that we
buy eight Lenovo IdeaPad laptops. The cost including shipping is $6430 (the quote is included in the
packet) and I am recommending that we use LIG/MEG funds for this purpose.
The other item that I would like to bring up involves the lighting project and our pending capital
projects. As you know, we are waiting on the Town to do a transfer to provide funding for the lighting
project, which we have already set in motion.
We have three other projects that we would like to complete by the end of the fiscal year:
1) Locking doors on the local history shelves ($12,552)
2) Repair and paint exterior wood sills ($9460)
3) Masonry repair ($7150)
We are not likely to know about the transfer until at least the end of March. The second two projects
can be scheduled in a short amount of time once we know about the transfer of Town funds, but the
local history doors need a longer lead time. I am seeking approval to go ahead with that project and fall
back on LIG/MEG funds if the lighting project transfer is not approved.
