A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING DMC ENGINEERING TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING SERVICES
REQUIRED TO COMPLETE LEAD AND COPPER RULE REVISON, CAPITOL
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 4011.68.097 FOR A NOT -TO -EXCEED
AMOUNT OF $50,000.
WHEREAS, On January 15, 2021, the United States Environmental
Protection Agency (US EPA) published revisions to the Lead and Copper Rule
known as the Lead Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR); and
WHEREAS, Through the LCRR, US EPA requires all community water
systems to conduct a comprehensive inventory of both publicly owned and
privately -owned service line materials "regardless of ownership"; and
WHEREAS, The LCRR requires water systems to identify any lead,
galvanized steel pipe requiring replacement (GRR), or "lead status unknown"
service lines and to make the inventory information publicly available; and
WHEREAS, Water systems must submit their initial inventories to their
primacy agency (State of California) by October 16, 2024; and
WHEREAS, DMc Engineering shall provide the City with project
management and administration required to complete the approved CIP project for
Lead and Copper Rule Revision; and
WHEREAS, the cost for DMc Engineering to provide these services is
$50,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby finds and
declares that the foregoing recitals are true and correct and incorporates them
herein as findings and as substantive part of this resolution.
Section 2. That the City Council approves the proposal provided by DMc
Engineering to provide Engineering Services necessary to complete the Lead and
Copper Rule Revision (LCRR) in an amount not to exceed $50,000.
Section 3. Authorize the Mayor to execute the Resolution for and on
behalf of the City of Lynwood.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City
Council Resolution.
