APPROVING THE 2003-2004 CDBG PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has been allocated $118,000.00 from the
Middlesex County Housing and development program for the 2003-2004 CDBG
year; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on Wednesday February 19, 2003 to solicit
comments and recommendations from the residents of the Borough of Carteret; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Board has had the opportunity to discuss
the proposals with the Mayor and council and representatives to the Middlesex
County Housing and Community Development Program; and
WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the Community development Board that thc
following programs meet the guidelines of the citizen's Participation List of Eligible
activities:
Volunteer Fire Department $ 2,000.00
Carbon Monoxide Program $18,000.00
Carteret Police Department $ 37,000.00
Volunteer First Aid Squad $ 2,000.00
Office of Emergency Management $ 2,000.00
Recreation Commission $ 5,000.00
Housing Rehabilitation $ 9,000.00
ADA Accessibility/Municipal Building $ 41,000.00
Kiddie Keep Well $ 2,000.00
$118,000.00
WHEREAS, the above programs were unanimously approved by the Community
Development Board at the Public Hearing.
NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret hereby consent to the submission of the above names proposals.
Adopted this 20th day of February, 2003
and certified as a true copy of the
original on February 21, 2003.
