Tybee Island, Georgia
April 20, 1983
A special meting of the Tybee Island City Council was held at 7:30
p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 1983 at the City Hall. Mayor Charles J.
Hosti presided and the following members of Council were present: Jim
Fabrikant, John Wylly, Jeanne Hutton, Kilma MoCutchen, Jerome Bettencourt
and S. J. Orsini.
Mayo Hosti announced that the special meting was called for the
purpose of adopting a Resolution accepting a grant and approving a contract
for a grant of $20,000.00 £ran the Governor's Emergency Fund for Recreational
Purposes. This Resolution was read and discussed. Councilperson Bettencourt
moved that it be adopted, Councilperson Hutton seconded and the vote was
unanimously in favor. All members of Council, and the Mayor signed the
Resolution, a copy of which is attached to, and becomes apart of, these
minutes.
There was no further business, so the meeting adjourned. The entire
Council, however, stayed for a workshop on grants presented by Mr. Dick
Newborn of the Coastal Area Planning & Development Commission.

A RESSOLUTION APPROVING A CONTRACT AND AUTH-
ORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT FROM THE GOV-
INOR'S EMERGENCY FUND FOR RECREATIONAL PUR-
POSES
WHEREAS, the City of Tybee Island has made application to the Governor
for a grant to be used for the stabilization of the Tybee
Island seawall; and
WHEREAS, the Governor has responded to this request by an allocation to the
Department of Natural Resources of $20,000.00 from the Governor's
Emergency Fund for the purpose of providing a financial grant -in-
aid;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED THAT the City
of Tybee Island
1. hereby approves the contract between the Department
of Natural Resources, State of Georgia and the City
of Tybee Island; and
•2. understands and agrees `:o be bound by all the terms
and conditions of said contract; and
3. accepts with gratitude the generous grant by Governor
Joe Frank Harris; and
4. hereby authorizes and directs the Mayor of the City
of Tybee Island to sign documents and to execute this
agreement by and on behalf of the City of Tybee Island,
Georgia.

OF TYBEE ISLAND, GEORGIA, IN A SPECIAL CALLED COTJNCIL MEETING
HELD THIS 20th DAY OF APRIL, 1983.
