CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
TEMPLE CITY CALIFORNIA
JUNE 12, 1962
1. Mayor Tyrell called the adjourned meeting of the City Council
to order at 7:30 P. M.
2, ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: Councilmen - Fitzjohn, Merritt, Nunamaker, Tyrell
ABSENT: Councilman - Dickason
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Woollett
3. The City Council reviewed the budget items as approved at the
budget meetings, following which Resolution No. 62 -213
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY ADOPTING THE CITY BUD-
GET AND APPROPRIATING REVENUE OF THE CITY FOR THE 1962 -1963
FISCAL YEAR was presented to the Council by City Manager
Woollett. Councilman Fitzjohn moved to adopt Resolution No.
62 -213, Councilman Merritt seconded, roll call vote as follow:
AYES: Councilmen - Fitzjohn, Merritt, Nunamaker, Tyrell
NOES: Councilmen -None
ABSENT: Councilman - Dickason
4. City Attorney Shatford arrived at this time. City Manager
Woollett advised there had been considerable discussion among
the merchants in regard to placing bill- boards on top of the
down -town buildings in C -2 zone. City Attorney Shatford ad-
vised he had prepared an ordinance which could be adopted as
an urgency ordinance, and which would halt any further con-
struction of such bill- boards until the Council had completed
a study of the problem. This would not effect bill- boards
already in existence, but at a later date the Council could
adopt an ordinance which would control all bill -board con-
struction and also prohibit renewal of contracts on those al-
ready existing. Following discussion by the Council Asst. City
Attorney'Lumsdon read in full Ordinance No. 62 -80.AN ORDINANCE
OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AMENDING CHAPTER 1 OF ARTICLE 1X
OF THE TEMPLE CITY MUNICIPAL CODE AND DELETING OUTDOOR ADVER-
TISING FROM THE USES PERMITTED IN CERTAIN ZONES. Councilman
Nunamaker moved to adopt Ordinance No. 62 -80 as an urgency
ordinance, Councilman Fitzjohn seconded, roll call vote as
fol lows:
AYES: Councilmen- Fitzjohn, Merritt, . Nunamaker, Tyrell
NOES: Councilmen -None
ABSENT: Councilman - Dickason
5. Councilman Fitzjohn moved to adjourn, Councilman Merritt second-
ed, and carried, Council adjourned at 8 :00 P. M. until June
25, 1962, at the City Hall at 7:30 P. M.
