HomeMy Public PortalAboutGolf Department Report November 2020Memo / To: City Council From: Eric McCormick, Golf Course Superintendent CC: Anette Spickard, City Manager Date: 1/5/2024 Re: Monthly Department Report – November 2020 Weather: November brought early snow that stayed on and was enough to insulate and soak up the rain that we received mid-month. Staff: At the end of November, we were down to 3 full time staff. The last seasonal left the week of Thanksgiving. We plan on bringing in two seasonal employees next month for the winter but only have them work during snow events to reduce the number of staff in the maintenance building so have no winter projects planned other that equipment repair and snow removal. Greens: Crew covered 12 of the problem greens with Enkamat the first week of November right after we closed and just before it snowed. Shady areas of the greens were frozen before it snowed but thawed out now that they are snow covered. Club House We are working on replacing all the exhaust fans in the club house. Equipment Maintenance: Calvin Clark, Mechanic, is grinding reels on the fairway mowers when he isn’t helping with snow removal. Restaurant: Banyan’s reopened mid-month with their winter days and hours – Thursday evening through Sunday lunch. They have put heaters and fire pits on the deck to move more people outside. Irrigation: We replaced the culvert/head gate for the irrigation ponds that we use to back up and raise the level of the ponds. It had rusted out and has needed to be replaced for a couple of years. We were able to get it replaced just before it snowed.
