Development/Infrastructure Final Acceptance: Final completion inspections completed for Fairways Subdivision and Shore Lodge Cottages subdivision. 2. Downtown Core Reconstruction: Phase 2B — Substantial completion inspection occurred on 10/22/20. All pathway and pressure sewer main construction complete. Final completion anticipated in early November. 3. SH-55/Deinhard-Boydstun Lane Corridor Study: Horrocks continues to work on revisions to the study in preparation for fmal report presentation via Council work session (with ITD District 3 staff) scheduled for 12/18/20. 4. Thompson Avenue Reconstruction: Contractor completed sidewalk, ditch grading, road construction and asphalt paving in October. Final completion anticipated in early November. 5. Park/Thompson Overhead Utility Conversion: Asphalt patching and embankment grading and hydroseeding (at 4th and Thompson) has been completed. 6. Mission Street Reconstruction Project: Design consultant finalizing conceptual site plans for property owner driveway modifications. Will meet with property owners and formal public input in November. 7. PW Facility HVAC Improvements: YMC was unresponsive in October, staff reaching out to other HVAC contractors. University of Idaho Architecture Design Lab staff will assist City staff in selecting preferred technology upgrades. Interim measures (room air scrubbers, HEPA filters, etc.) may be implemented prior to full-scale HVAC replacement. 8. Banner over Highway: Currently no banners can be hung over the HWY 55 until repairs are made to the existing supports. 9. RAPID Data Huts: Engineering, Streets and Water staff have been assisting IT Department on constructability and permitting for proposed huts located at Water Treatment Plant, Davis Beach Parking Lot, and Broken Horn future neighborhood park city properties. Monthly Department Report — Public Works 10. FY21 MIP Projects: LIDAR topographic survey and engineering design kickoff for Spring Mountain Boulevard and north Mission Street pavement rehabilitation occurred this month. These projects will be bid and constructed in 2021. STREETS 1. Knowles Rd ROW Storm Water Ditch: Finished 2. Work behind City Hall: Finished 3. Emergency Call Ins: 2 emergency call ins for sanding. 4. Prep for Snow Removal: Mark routes, prep equipment. 5. Plow Snow: Plowed 2 snow events. Total snow amount for those 2 events was 16 inches. WATER Distribution: 1. University Davis Water Main Upgrades: 100% complete. 2. Agate Water Main Construction Agreement: 100% complete. 3. Alpine Street Water Main Replacement: Engineering design for old, 4 -inch line replacement between Pine and Thompson has commenced. Bidding and construction will occur in 2021. 4. Washington Ward Street Water Main: Design has begun on the water main replacement from Washington to Ward street, surveying was conducted in early November. 5. New Water Service: Set meters and turned water on for 2 new residential customers. 6. Lead & Copper: Staff has completed our lead and copper sampling for 2020, 3 sites were found to have lead levels over the action level of .015mg/L. This will require additional monitoring and consumer notification per IDEQ guidelines. Public education will take place starting the week of Nov 23rd and will consist of press release, advertising, and in bill notification. Corrosion control sampling has been completed we will be working with IDEQ to develop a plan moving forward. 7. Emergency Calls: 1 Meter turn off/on, 1 water line break on Rowland, lmeter repair 8. Normal Call Outs: 2 requests to turn water on/off, 1 main line tap, 2 leak check, 1 leak check on city lines, 2 meter lid/pit repair, 2 ECR Repairs, 1 final inspections, 8 fire hydrant/valve inspections/repairs, 3 contractor or project inspections, 1 check for high usage, 9. Digline Requests: Responded to 12 dig line locates. 10. PRV Inspection: All 20 Pressure Reducing Valves were inspected. Treatment: 1. Legacy Intake Station Reconstruction: Construction began in October and will continue through Fall and Winter. Micro piles have been installed and foundation is to be poured 11/23/20. 2. Buildings & Grounds: New rain gutters and heat tape complete. Interior paining has begun. IT is finishing up the installation of their fiber building on the Bitterroot side of water plant grounds. 3. Filter to Waste Basin: Draining and cleaning of filter to waste basin has been completed. 4. Chemicals: We are still working with Suez to come up with a new & modern blend of chemicals to help with water quality. The blends will consist of a winter blend and a summer blend to help with the challenges each season provides. Research will continue after the Thanksgiving holiday.
