DESIGNATING MERIDIAN TERRACE, LLC, AS THE REDEVELOPER
FOR A PORTION OF THE CARTERET CHROME WATERFRONT
REDEVELOPMENT DISTRICT
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 03-07, passed on February 6, 2003, the
Borough of Carteret adopted the Redevelopment Plan for the redevelopment of
the Chrome Waterfront Redevelopment District ("CWRD"); and
WHEREAS, Meridian Terrace, LLC, 90 Woodbridge CenterDrive,
Woodbridge, NJ 07095, ("Meridian") has submitted to the governing body, a
redevelopment project proposal for a portion of the CWRD, more specifically,
Block 5.01; Lots 1.01, 1.03, and 2, said area consisting of approximately 5.5
acres, and Meridian's proposed redevelopment project is consistent with the
development standards set forth in the Redevelopment Plan; and
WHEREAS, the governing body has reviewed the redevelopment project
proposal ~ubmitted by Meridian and has determined that the same will promote
and further the goals and objectives of the Redevelopment Plan, and will promote
the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of Carteret; and
WHEREAS, the governing body has further determined that it would be
in the public interest to designate Meridian as redeveloper for the above
referenced parcels of land pursuant to conditions set forth herein.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council o£
the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
1. That Meridian Terrace, LLC, 90 Woodbridge Center Drive,
Woodbridge, NJ 07095, is hereby designated as the redeveloper for the following
parcels of land which comprise a portion of the Carteret Chrome Waterfront
Redevelopment District: Block 5.01; Lots1.01, 1.03 and 2, all contingent upon
the negotiation and execution of a formal redevelopment agreement between the
Borough and Meridian with regard to proposed redevelopment project.
2. That the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to negotiate a
redevelopment agreement with Meridian Terrace, LLC for the above referenced
redevelopment project.
3. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to Meridian Terrace
and the Borough Attorney.
