Staff were able to secure a contractor for the show, however the only way the company can justify a show in McCall on the 4th of July is for it to be a much larger display which comes at a higher cost. The same company can justify a smaller scale show on Saturday, July 01 for a cost of $15,000, but to schedule a show on July 04 the cost jumps to $25,000. To offset the cost increase staff have researched various funding mechanisms which include the following. Community Sponsorship Program – based on a tiered level sponsorship model Partnership program with other agencies such as McCall Fire, Southern Idaho Timber Protection Association, Payette National Forest, Valley County to promote a community show on the lake and a more fire safe community. General operating budgets: (surplus auction revenue, marketing line item, parks operating line items.) RECOMMENDED ACTION: Review and discuss funding mechanisms with staff with prioritization of funding mechanism to keep project moving forward and secure contractor.
