Ignite Idaho is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to strengthen families and prevent child abuse in the Valley and Adams County area. They work to fulfill their mission through education, prevention, and intervention. The services they currently offer include parenting classes (with free dinner and childcare to increase accessibility), support groups for single parents, teens, middle schoolers, and children with a high-demand sibling, counseling, in-home behavioral health services, trauma-informed care seminars, and NICU and infant loss support. They have a staffed resource center in McCall that is open to walk-ins in need of connection with community resources. Through their resource center model, they prioritize community partnerships for the good of the community and regularly collaborate with St. Luke's McCall, YAC, The ROC, Toby's Place, juvenile justice workers, the child welfare system, and many other organizations to connect community members with all the help they need to thrive. They are constantly growing and adapting and hope to implement additional support for youth and families soon. They would also like to request that the City of McCall partner with them in the work to fulfill their mission. They will be applying for an Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections grant this summer to bring an assessment center, which provides intervention to at-risk youth and their families, to our area. One of the grant application requirements is that they have a Memorandum of Understanding with as many community agencies as possible. They are requesting that the City of McCall approve and sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Ignite Idaho Family Resource Center to show support and aid them in their work to get additional funding and services to our area. In turn, Ignite Idaho would love to support the City of McCall in whatever mental health and crisis capacities the City may need. Upon request, they have attended candlelight vigils in New Meadows and provided grief support. They would be honored to do the same for the City of McCall, should their services be needed. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve a Memorandum of Understanding with Ignite Idaho Family Resource Center to show support for an Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections grant application an authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents.
