SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The City of McCall Parks and Recreation Department is seeking approval to submit a grant application to the Perc H. Shelton and Gladys A. Pospisil Shelon Foundation Advised Fund for
$5000 to support the purchase of an 80ft. by 120 ft. portable above-ground ice rink to be provided for free public winter use. The total cost of the ice rink system is $10,064 and the
balance of funding will be provided by FY24 LOT funds for community Parks and Recreation programs.
The selected above-ground modular ice rink system by EZ-ICE is a stake-free design that allows for installation without damage to ground surface and allows for quick set up and take
down each season. More information can be found at ezicerinks.com. This rink system will replace the flooded open field approach that has been used to create an ice rink at Gold Glove
Park over the last few years that has seen increasing community use but causes challenges with preparation of the fields for spring sports use.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve submittal of a Shelton Foundation grant application to support purchase of an ice rink for public use
