SUMMARY STATEMENT:
On August 24, the McCall City Council discussed a Request for Proposals (RFP) Solid Waste, Recycling and Compositing. This meeting topic included the background on contract development
and previous RFP efforts. It also included numerous proposals to add recycling as a service and discussions of a compositing programs. Based on the McCall Area Comprehensive Plan, it
states that the City should support curbside recycling and composting. A draft of the Solid Waste, Recycling and Composting RFP was included. The most recent public outreach effort
was presented by the Communications Manager Erin Greaves.
At the August 24th meeting, Lake Shore provided some information about the topic, and a work session was requested with Lake Shore to better understand the existing program in McCall,
indusry standards, and ideas for McCall moving forward prior to the RFP being issued. Lake Shore representativives will present information on Solid Waste, Recycling and Compositing
from the industary perspective and how it relates to McCall and other communities.
