Forbes , AICP , Community Development Director By : Jennifer Venters , Planning Secretary SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS-MEETIN G OF SEPTEMBER 23 , 2014 RECOMMENDATION: The City Council is requested to receive and fi le the Planning Commission (Co mmi ss io n) actions from th eir meeting of September 23, 2014 . BACKGROUND: On September 23 , 2014 , the Commiss ion held their regularly scheduled meeting . ANALYSIS: The fol lowi ng is a s umm ary of actio ns take n at the September 23 , 2014 meeting : 1. ROLL CA LL: Present: Commissioner -Cordes , Horton , O'Leary, Vice-Chairman Curran , Chai rman Leung Absent: Commissioner -No ne Excused : Commissioner -None 2 . CO N SE NT CALENDAR The Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of September 9, 2014 . City Council October 21 , 2014 Page 2 of 2 3 . PUBLIC HEARING A. A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ACUPUNCTURE CLINIC The Commission approved a Conditional Use Permit for the establishment of an acupuncture clinic at 9559 Las Tunas Drive . The app roved acupuncture clinic will provide acupuncture services and sell Chinese medicine and herbs . The business site has a land area of 2,750 square feet and is improved with a 1,850 square foot single-story commercial building . The property is designated as City Center Commercial (CC) in the Downtown Specific Plan . B. A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO ALLOW THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A FULL SERVICE RESTAURANT IN THE TEMPLE CITY MARKETPLACE SHOPPING CENTER The Commission continued the proposal for a full service restaurant (Grand Harbor Restaurant ) to the meeting of October 28 , 2014 , as the applicant was not present. Though the applicant is not required to be present, the Planning Commiss ion decided to continue to the item so they may ask questions. The property is zoned General Commercial (C-2) and Heavy Commercial (C-3) by the City's Genera l Plan. 4 . UNFINISHED BUSINESS-None 5 . NEW BUSINESS-None 6 . COMMUNICATIONS-None 7 . UPDATE FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR-None 8. ADJOURNMENT The Commission meeting was adjourned at 8:02 p .m . CONCLUSION: The City Council is requested to receive and file th is report. FISCAL IMPACT: Th is item does not have an imp act on the Fisca l Year (FY) 2014-15 City Budget.
