SUBJECT: TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION ACTIONS -
MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 24, 2014
RECOMMENDATION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file the Transportation and Public Safety
Commission (Comm ission ) actions from their meeting of September 24 , 2014 .
BACKGROUND :
On September 24, 2014 , the Commission held the i r regularly scheduled meeting .
ANALYSIS:
Following is a summary of actions taken at the September 24 , 2014 meeting:
1. ROLL CALL:
Present: Commissioner -Clift , H addad , Nimri , Chairman Redmond , V ice-
Chairman Stratis
Absent: Commissioner -None
Excused: Commissioner-None
2 . APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Commission approved the minutes of their September 10 , 2014 meeting .

3 . PARKING CITATION HEARINGS
The Comm ission held five hearings in person , uphe ld three citations , cont i nued
one hearing to a future meeting at the request of the appellant , and d ism issed one
citation .
The Commission reviewed one hearing requested by written decla ration and
dismissed the citation .
4 . NEW BUSINESS
A. BACK-IN PARKING IN CITY PARKING LOTS
Management Analyst Coyne presented the Commission with a survey that
was conducted of ne ighboring cities in regards to back-in parking
regulations . The Comm ission directed staff to gather data and return to the
Commission in two months with a report explaining the effects , pros and
cons , of the Back-I n Parking Ordinance .
B . TRAFFIC COLLISION DATA FOR LOWER AZUSA ROAD
Community Development Director Forbes presented the traffic coll is ion data
compiled by the Sheriff's Department for three intersections on Lower Azusa
Road in response to a prior request by Commissioner Nimri. Community
Development Di rector Forbes recommended no action as a result of the
data . The Commission approved a motion to receive and file the report.
CONCLUSION:
The City Council is requested to receive and file this report .
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year 2014-15 City Budget.
