APPROVING THE 2001-2002 CDBG PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has been allocated $88,000.00 from the
Middlesex County Housing and Community Development Program for the
2000-2001 CDBG year; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on Wednesday, January 18, 2000 to
solicit comments and recommendations from the residents of the Borough of
Carteret; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Board has had the opportunity to
discuss the proposals with the Mayor and Council and representatives to the
Middlesex County Housing and Community Development Program; and
WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the Community Development Board that the
following programs meet the guidelines of the Citizen's Participation List of
Eligible activities:
Girl Scouts $ 4,000.00
Volunteer Fire Department $ 4,000.00
Park Renewal (Chrome) $ 3,500.00
Handicapped Curb Cuts $ 4,800.00
Housing Rehabilitation $35,200.00
Kiddie Keep Well $ 2,500.00
Housing Authority $14,000.00
Carteret Police $20,000.00
$88,000.00
WHEREAS, the above programs were unanimously approved by the
Community Development Board at the Public Hearing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret hereby consent to the submission of the above named
proposals.
BE, 1T FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall take effect
immediately as provided by law.
