New Business- The Commission continued discussion on what possible amendments they
would like to see reflected in the Rules and Regulations by fall of20l9. These changes include;
being open to all military personnel granted an honorable discharge, changing the current list dates
to better align with college recruitment events, lateral transfers, and educational requirements.
Commissioner Nott compiled a list of these proposed changes and will invite the Commission
Attomey to call into the next meeting for further discussion.
Chief Konopek gave an update to the status of the current Entry Level Police Officer hiring
process. They are currently working down the list to find two candidates to attend the April
Academy. The Commission gave their approval to keep working down the list until he reaches two
viable candidates.
There being no further business or discussion, Commissioner Nott moved the meeting be
adjoumed at 7:16 p.m.

PLAINFIELD BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS MINUTES
JANUARY 18.2018
Commissioner Michael Noft called the January 18,2018 meeting of the Board of Police
Commissioners to order at 6:08 p.m. In attendance were Commissioner Nott, Commissioner
Chapman, Commissioner Gardner, Chief John Konopek, and Cindie Blazina.
Public Forum-Citizen's Comments- None.
The minutes of the November 16,2017 meeting were read, and Commissioner Nott moved
the minutes to be approved, Commissioner Chapman seconded the motion. All in favor.
Correspondence- None.
Old Business- None.
Executive Session- No executive session was held.
