I would appreciate your including them in the materials given to the Board members. The materials include: 1. A copy of an apology letter that I mailed to the neighbors who live at 78 Winsor Avenue 2. An invitation to a Community Meeting that we hosted which was hand-delivered to every house on Winsor Ave and to close-by houses on Maplewood, School and Langdon Streets. 3. The sign-in sheet for the Community Meeting. (Seven households were represented and all of the attendees expressed support. None of the people in opposition attended). 4. A photograph showing the work we had done this month to restore the buffer between our fence and our driveway at the recommendation of the Planning Board Staff to maintain a more residential look. We completely agreed and were happy to follow their beneficial recommendation. And Ms. Civetti, I also want to thank you for answering all my questions the many times I have called to ask for help in understanding what was happening, and especially for all of your work organizing the many documents related to my hearing. I certainly never anticipated such a robust community response, but in light of the fact there was one, your efforts were pivotal in helping everyone interested to better understand specifically where things stood throughout the process. Thank you. I came over to your house to apologize and explain, but no one answered so I am hoping you'll take the time to read this letter. As you correctly observed it was at your garage sale that I first elicited Eva and Pete's support for my having a private practice. Based on that, my original application included their names, though they were away in Florida at the time. When I saw you had returned, Eva, I told you your names had been included as verbal consents and you didn't object. Again, as recently as the weekend before the zoning board meeting, you told us you did not have a problem with that. Debra and Dean's names were added to the application after my lot survey came back listing them as having legal interest, of which we were unaware. I added their names more for identification of the house on the survey but I think I also assumed they supported what you supported. I now realize I should have checked before making any assumptions. That was a mistake which I regret and for which I am very embarrassed. I did not intend to misrepresent your family's position to the zoning board. I had good reason to believe that you, Pete and Eva, were not opposed, and I erroneously assumed Deborah would agree with you. This was an honest mistake. It makes me sad that that mistake is being used to question my integrity in a neighborhood disagreement. And even sadder if this drives a wedge between us personally. We genuinely like and care for you, Eva and Pete, and are grateful to have you as neighbors. We clearly disagree about this issue. But I pray that we can have an honest disagreement and remain friendly. Part of what makes this neighborhood special is the harmony we enjoy with one another.
