Park St. McCall, Idaho 83638 Delivered via email to: bwagner@mccall.id.us Re: Letter of Interest for the McCall Public Art Advisory Committee Dear BessieJo and the Public Art Advisory Committee, I’m writing to formally express my interest in serving on the McCall Public Art Advisory Committee. I’m a lifelong Northwest resident and working artist here in McCall who has called this community my full-time home since 2015. I’m also the co-founder and co-owner of McCall Made—a local artists’ collective and retail space that’s currently showcasing and paying close to 60 local artists every month. 100% of proceeds from the shop go back into the local art community and I donate 100% of my time at the shop every month. McCall Made was created to be an inspiring, inclusive space for local artists by local artists, and in addition to being the only place in McCall where people can peruse goods made entirely by local artisans of all types, McCall Made also offers hands-on creative workshops and art classes, alongside resources and networking opportunities for artists of all types. I think the McCall Public Art Advisory Committee would greatly benefit from having a working artist and small business owner like me on the committee. I previously served on the Environmental Advisory Committee for the City of McCall, and worked for the McCall Arts & Humanities Council from October 2019 until February 2023. I’m extremely well-connected to the dynamic and growing community of local creatives here in the West Central Mountains [McCall Made doesn’t feature any artists from Boise, though I have many connections in that sphere, too; all of the makers in the shop are living and working full-time in the West Central Mountains]. I can tell you without hesitation that artists in McCall are a vibrant and talented bunch, and I’m extremely passionate about and dedicated to educating, uplifting, and celebrating the wonderful community of creatives we have in our beautiful backyard. I know I would be a dedicated and valuable asset to the McCall Public Art Advisory Committee. Thank you for your consideration.
