AN ORDINANCE, making an appropriation of Fifteen Million Dollars
($15,000,000.00) from the Sanitary Replacement Fund to be used for sanitary sewer construction
in Deer Creek Sanitary Tunnel (Clayton Rd to RDP) – Pump Station (12615) in the City of
Shrewsbury, Missouri; and authorizing the Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer on behalf
of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No. 21899 with KCI
Construction Company for sanitary sewer construction .
WHEREAS, the bid for said sanitary sewer construction is Twenty -Eight Million
Nine Hundred Forty Thousand Dollars ($28,940 ,000.00 ) and the allowance for construction
change orders and other project expenses is One Millio n Sixty Thousand Dollars ($1,060 ,000.00);
WHEREAS, a supplemental appropriation request is planned for Fiscal Year 2022
(FY2022 ) for a total appropriation amount of Thirty Million Dollars ($30,000,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance has certified th at there is an unencumbered
balance in the above-named fund sufficient to pay the obligation authorized herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE METROPOLITAN ST. LOUIS SEWER DISTRICT:
Section One. The sum of Fifteen Million Dollars ($15,000,000.00) is hereby
appropriated from the Sanitary Replacement Fund for sanitary sewer construction in Deer Creek
Sanitary Tunnel (Clayton Rd to RDP) – Pump Station (12615) in the City of Shrewsbury, Missouri;
and said contract shall be comprised of such other terms and conditions as are approved by the
Office of the General Counsel of the District.
Section Two . The Executive Director and Secretary-Treasurer are hereby
authorized on behalf of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District to enter into Contract No. 21899
with KCI Construction Company, as the lowest responsible proposer for sanitary sewer
construction in Deer Creek Sanitary Tunnel (Clayton Rd to RDP) – Pump Station (12615) in the
City of Shrewsbury, Missouri, pursuant to bids received on the 1 5th day of April, 2020.
Section Three . This ordinance, being an appropriation ordinance, shall take effect
immediately upon its enactment.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted on August 13, 2020.
