MEDINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF MARCH 25, 1997
The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on March 25, 1997, at
7:10 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. Mayor John Ferris presided.
Members present: John Ferris, John Hamilton, Jim Johnson(arrived at 7:32 p.m.),
Ann Thies, and Phil Zietlow.
Members absent: None.
Also present: Police Chief Rick Rabenort and City Clerk -Treasurer Paul Robinson.
1. Review of City Hall Addition Plans
A letter was handed out to the City Council outlining the changes from the previous
plan. Rick Rabenort described these changes.
Ann Thies raised some concerns about the size of the doorways and if they would meet
the ADA requirements.
John Hamilton asked if the cost of this improvement was justifiable.
Phil Zietlow said that all of the improvement were done primarily to improve safety.
There was discussion about the various improvements and details of the new proposal.
After this discussion the consensus of the City Council was to go out for bids with the
new proposal.
Moved by Ann Thies, seconded by John Hamilton, to authorize staff to advertise for
bids, on the new plans as outlined in the letter from Larson and Associates. Motion
passed unanimously.
2. Adjourn
Moved by Ann Thies, seconded by John Hamilton, to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 p.m.
Motion passed unanimously.
