ORDINANCE 1995 -10
AN ORDINANCE REZONING WOODED HILLS
FROM AG TO R -1
WHEREAS, it was requested that the following described real estate be rezoned from
AG to R -1; and
WHEREAS, the rezoning was approved by the Plan Commission at its meeting on
June 26, 1995, and certified to the legislative body;
NOW THEREFORE be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of
Greencastle, Putnam County, Indiana, that:
SECTION I. The following described real estate, and the same is, hereby rezoned from
AG to R -1, to wit:
® Part of the South half of the Northeast quarter and part of the North half of
the Southeast quarter of Section 8 in Township 14 North of Range 4 West
described as follows; to -wit: Beginning at the Southwest corner of the South
half of said Northeast quarter thence North 19 chains and 85 links to the
Northwest corner thereof thence East 26 chains and 18 links to the center of
State Road number 43 thence South 1 degree East along said Road 21 chains and
52 links to the approximate beginning of an approximate 5 degree curve left
thence along said curve 11 chains and 85 links to the end thereof; thence South
42 degrees East 4 chains and 82 links to the center of the bridge over Walnut
Creek; thence along said creek South 25 degrees West 4 chains and 15 links to
the South line of the North half of said Southeast quarter thence West 32
chains and 77 links thence North 20 chains and 13 links to the place of
beginning containing 113.6 acres, more or less.
EXCEPT a part of the South half of the Northeast quarter of Section 8 in
Township 14 North, of Range 4 West described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning 13 chains and 3 links North of the Southwest corner of said half
quarter thence North 6 chains and 82 links to the Northwest corner thence East
26 chains and 18 links to the center of State Road number 43; thence South 1
degree East along said road 6 chains and 82 links thence West 26 chains and 30
links to the place of beginning, containing 17.9 acres; more or less,
EXCEPT ALSO, a part of the South half of the Northeast quarter of Section
8 in Township 14 North of Range 4 West described as follows, to -wit:
® Beginning 6 chains and 21 links North of the Southwest corner of the said half
quarter; thence North 6 chains and 82 links thence East 26 chains and 30 links
® to the center of State Road number 43 thence South 1 degree East along said
road 6 chains and 82 links. thence West 26 chains and 42 links to the place of
beginning containing 18.1 acres, more or less.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
promulgation, approval by the Mayor and publication in accordance with the law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Common Council of the City of Greencastle,
Indiana this LL_ day of U 1995.

SYNOPSIS
This ordinance rezones an area North of Big Walnut and West of U.S. 231 that has
been developed as an R -1 area consisting of approximately 77.6 acres.
