HomeMy Public PortalAboutMinutes - 6/2/2008 The Wellsburg City Council met in regular session June 2, 2008 with Mayor Fox presiding and Council Members Buseman, Lindaman, Nielsen and Van Heiden present. Absent Van Hauen. Motion by Nielsen second by Van Heiden to approve the minutes of the May regular meeting. All ayes, carried. The Treasurers report for May was not available. Council will approve in July. Motion by Lindaman second by Buseman to approve the following bills for payment. All ayes, carried. Motion by Lindaman second by Van Heiden to approve the first reading of Ordinance 06-2008 an ordinance increasing water rates. New rate for water to be set at $.075/cubic foot of water used. Beginning July 1, 2009 and each July 1st thereafter water rates shall be increased by the Consumer Price Index established by the Department of Labor. Roll call of votes. All ayes, carried. Motion by Buseman second by Van Heiden to reimburse lifeguard training for students. Reimbursement will be paid after completing the course and working for the City one complete pool season. Motion by Van Heiden second by Lindaman to approve a building permit for Joann Beenken. All ayes, carried. Motion by Buseman second by Lindaman to approve cigarette permits for R & M Foods and Casey’s. All ayes, carried. Motion by Lindaman second by Buseman for the transfer of the Community Club liquor license for June 17 and 18, 2008. All ayes, carried. Motion to adjourn Van Heiden second by Buseman.
