TIME: 6:00 P.M.
Anyone wishing to address the City Council on any matter not on the
agenda of this meeting may do so now. Anyone wishing to speak on
an item on the agenda may do so at the time the Council considers
that item. All persons wishing to speak should fill out a "Request
to Speak Form" and give it to the Deputy City Clerk at the
beginning of the meeting. The forms are available on the railing
at the front of the Council Chambers, and on the table at the back.
CONSENT CALENDAR:
1. Motion to approve Consent Calendar items by one motion.
a. Approval of minutes for City Council meeting held May 9,
1994. (CLK)
b. Approval of warrant list and payroll. (FIN)
c. Acceptance of report of Planning Commission meeting held
April 17, 1994. (PING)

STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:
2. Acceptance of vehicle donated by Southern California Edison
for use by the Police Department Volunteer Services personnel.
(PD)
Staff recommendation: Approve acceptance of vehicle and
authorize the City Manager to execute the appropriate
documents.

3. One-year extension of lease of City property at 296 California
Avenue to H.E.L.P. (Hope, Empathy, Love & Prayer). (CM)
Staff recommendation: Approve lease extension with the same
terms and conditions of the original lease.

4. Adoption of a resolution establishing limited time parking in
the 400 block of East Fourth Street. (PD)
Staff recommendation: Adopt resolution establishing limited
tiem parking and no parking areas in the 400 Block of East
Fourth Street.

5. Encroachment Permit No. 539 to the Riverside County
Transportation Commission for traffic detour to accommodate
Caltrans improvements to State Highway 79 between First Street
and the southerly City limits. (Rescheduled from 5-9-94
agenda.) (PWKS)
Staff recommendation: Approve Encroachment Permit with
conditions as recommended.

CLOSED SESSION:
6. Recess to closed session to confer with legal counsel
regarding the following:
A. Existing litigation:
Case Name Unspecified: Disclosure would jeopardize
existing settlement negotiations.
B. Consideration of public employee personnel matters
pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.
Reconvene from Closed Session.
Announce actions taken and vote of council members.
ADJOURNMENT:
A meeting of the Beaumont Redevelopment Agency will be held
immediately following the Council meeting.
