BEAUMONT CITY COUNCIL MEETING

CALL TO ORDER PLACE: CITY COUNCIL CHAMBER

INVOCATION: Mayor Leja.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Leja.
ADJUSTMENTS TO THE AGENDA:
None.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS:
Mayor Pro_Tem Parrott reported on the activities of the Riverside
Transit Agency in bringing transportation to the area between San
Bernardino and Palm springs.
CONSENT CALENDAR:
1. Motion to approve Consent Calendar items by one motion.
a. Approval of minutes for City Council meeting held May 9,
1994. (CLK)
b. Approval of warrant list and payroll. (FIN)
C. Acceptance of report of Planning Commission meeting held
April 17, 1994. (PLNG)
Approved.

STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS:
2. Acceptance of vehicle donated by Southern California Edison
for use by the Police Department Volunteer Services personnel.
(PD)
Staff recommendation: Approve acceptance of vehicle and
authorize the City Manager .to execute the appropriate
documents.
Approved Contract No. 94-23 accepting vehicle.
3. One-year extension of lease of City property at 296 California
Avenue to H.E.L.P. (Hope, Empathy, Love & Prayer). (CM)
Staff recommendation: Approve lease extension with the same
terms and conditions of the original lease.
Approved Contract No. 94-24 approving lease extension,
effective 3/1/94, as recommended.
4. Adoption of a resolution establishing limited time parking in
the 400 block of East Fourth Street. (PD)
Staff recommendation: Adopt resolution establishing limited
time parking and no parking areas in the 400 Block of East
Fourth'Street.
Adopted Resolution No. 94-08 as recommended by staff.
5. Encroachment Permit No. 539 to the Riverside County
Transportation Commission for traffic detour to accommodate
Caltrans improvements to State Highway 79 between First Street
and the southerly City limits. (Rescheduled from 5-9-94
agenda.) (PWKS)
Staff recommendation: Approve Encroachment Permit with
conditions.
Approved Encroachment Permit No. 539 as recommended.
Adjourned to Beaumont Redevelopment Agency meeting at 6:25 p.m.
Reconvened from Redevelopment Agency meeting at 6:54 p.m. and
recessed to closed session.

CLOSED SESSION:
6. Recess to closed session to confer with legal counsel
regarding the following:
A. Existing litigation:
Case Name. Unspecified: Disclosure would jeopardize
existing settlement negotiations.
B. Consideration of public employee personnel matters
pursuant to Government Code Section 54957.
Reconvened from closed session at 8:25 p.m. with all
cmbrs present except Council Member Brey.
Mayor Lej a announced that no action had been taken during
the closed session.
The City Council meeting adjourned at 8:26 p.m.
