Home My Public Portal Aboutr 03:132No. 1~3-1'~2 Date of Adoption April 14, 2003 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE ERECTION OF CHAIN LINK FENCE AT CHROME BASEBALL FIELD WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of the installation of new fencing, a backstop, improvements to the basketball court and the removal of existing fencing at Chrome Park; and WHEREAS, the Borough Purchasing Agent has solicited and received five (5) bid proposals for said chain link fence as follows: 1. Carjen Fence Co. $74,573.00 2. Hazlet Security Fence $59,976.00 3. Barcia Brothers Fence $48,430.00 4. Zenith Construction Services $79,800.00 5. National Fence $47,060.00 WHEREAS, National Fence, 1033 Route 1, Avenel, NJ 07001, submitted the lowest bid for selected items as evidenced by the response on file with the Borough Purchasing Agent; and WHEREAS, the Borough Purchasing Agent and the Supervisor of Parks have reviewed the above bid proposals and has recommended the award of a contract to National Fence; and WHEREAS, the chief financial officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said purpose. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret as follows: 1. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with National Fence for the erection of new fencing, a backstop, improvements to the basketball court and the removal of existing fencing at Chrome Park in the amount of $47,060.00, in accordance in all respects with the bid specifications and contract documents and bid proposal for the same. 2. That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded to National Fence, the Borough Engineer, the Borough Purchasing Department, the Borough Parks Department and the Borough Attorney.
