Presert,The Recorder and Councilmen, Shroff,Fouche,Norris,Roll Ins, Bttzer,Johnston,Jivine,Cerrett and Casey. The mayor being absent on account of sickness -the Pecorder called the meeting to order anal appointed Mr Cascy Recorder pro tem. The minutes of the last mcettng wer:; rea- and approved. Mr.C.R.Lowenbach appear" in Council and stated that in wet weather water stands on the lot of Mr.Ftsher on east Market Street and is detrimental to the health of the citizens of that section, whereupon,on motton,messrs. Jivtne,Casey and Johnston. were ap- pointed a Committee to look Into the matter and make a report to the net mcettng of the Council. Contracts for hauli.rg the Slops and Garbage from the town for the year beginning March 1st 1902,were opened and hr T.1.Fisher having made the lowest bid for Hauling the same at X170, the contracts were awarded to him and the Recorder was requested to contract with htm,and to receive his usual compensation for so doing. Ordered that H1.60 be refunded tc ?'r P.P.Perry on an erroneous assessment. The Co?rmittee-on Extension of C he Corporate ltmtts of the Town mace their report,and thereupon they weie authorized to employ a Surveyor to run new lues of the town_ in accordar_ce with their instructtors Fnd the said Co^mttte was further authorized to take all steps necessary to have the same extended and the Charter of the Town amended. On finding the Board of Road Commissioners inclined to controversy and feeling that the town as rs, an entity could not hold the relation to its citizens of loco parentis counsel determined to withdraw said petition and file another to the name of one of her led ctttzens,This being done,satu citizen after a few days and whtle Court was still in session asked to have his petition withdrawn which was one. Your committee can therefore only report that the matter of paying road tax is entirely with the individual citizen and enc over which ;:e have no jurisdiction as a town Council.
