Present -The Recorder,and councilmen,liorrts, Garrott, Johnston, Swartz, Shroff, Rollins,Bttzer and Casey. The Mayor being absent -the Rccordcr called the meeting to oracr and appotntcd Mr -Casey Recorder pro -tem. The minutes of the last meeting were rea•,i ana approved. Report of Committee on Expansion: - To the Hon.E.eyor and Common Council of the town of Leesburg: Your CO-mittee appointee to prepare an amendment to the Charter of the town In order to extend its corporate boundaries,respectfully report that, the surveyor only to day made a return of his work,togethcr with a plat showing the propose., out 1tnes,courses and itstances,from which we submit the following amendment to section one (1) of the Charter as appears by an Act of July 9th,1870-I "An Act to amend ana re-enact section one of an Act to amend " "End re-enact the Charter of the Tow1: of Leesburg in the " "County of Loudoun passed July 9th 1870: " "Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia " "that Section one,of an act to amend and re-enact the Charter n "of' the Town of Leesburg in the County of Loudoun passea July "9th 1870,be amended and re-enactod so as to read as follows:" 1. App_ication having been made to the Council to have a pump or Cistern placed on North King Street about mt4way between North anu UnIon Strcets,thc matter was referred to the Wrter Committee to take sucA steps as they think proper. Resolved, that a Committee of three be appointed by the I:£ayor to Graft an Orat mance with respect to having a Meat Irspcctor aPPol.rteu ane make their report at the next meeting.
