t e Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Common_ Council of the town
of Leesburg, Virginia ,held July 2-'th,10C2.
Present,B.V.V.Ihtte,Mayor: B.V'.Franklin, RCC order, and Councilmen,
Corrett,Bell,Sar+pscil,Casey,W.tidman,Rollins,Thompson,Aorrts,Rinker
anal Zhroff.

S.T.Hickr!an was electea Councilman to fill the vacancy cruscd by
the rostgnation of S.J.Johnsten,and he was thereupon duly sworn in.
Oath of Office of S.J.Johnston as Treasurer was presented to the
Council and accepted.
1. petition of the Farmers Telephot_e Company to enter the Town with
their line was presented to the Ccunctl,and on motion the petition
was grar_tcd upon condition that the erection_ of any poles should
be under the Supervision of the Street COmmtsstoner of th& Street
or which they arc to be erected.
The resignation of S.H.Ball as a Membcr of Council was presenter
and on motion the Same was accepted.
The petition of hf.B.POrry to be relieved from ti1C pa;mort of a
Water right for 1001 was on motion referrer to the water Committee
to make a report of tho facts .
Petition of L.C.Rolltns to correct the Gssessmert on Hcuse and Lot
belonging to him which is assessed at 1^3CCo.was presented to the
Coancll,ana thereupon the matter was referred to the Town Sergeant
with instructions to examine the Lnnd Book of the County and cor-
rect said assessment sccerdtrgly.
:.C.Rolltns was appotnted a Member of the Finance Committee in the
Place of S.H.Ball,restgned.
Bill of T.B.Lynch for '35.75 against the Corporation was ordered
paid.
The Finance Commtttee was requested to notify each Bank thct all
mor:ey in the Savings Lepartment of those Institutions would be
withdravin on October lst,1902.

Dill of the "Record" for printing the Cod'fied Laws was ordered to be paidin
accordance with the contract.

The minutes of the last meeting were reau and approved.
On suggestion: The Committee on Town Hall was atrccted to arrange so that the
Fire Pell can be ®ung from the Street. Said Com.^.ittee was also utrected to
have necossary repairs mace to the bu'-laing nnx also have the roof patntea,sub-

On recommendation of Finance Committee it was Resolved that said Committee
prepare bonus amounting to ten thousand 010,000) dollars in denominations
of 1,t500. cach,to mature in 20 years,beartng interest at �'4 payable semi-eaurually
;Y at the office of the Town Treasurer, dated Oct -1,1902; The Town to have the
option of redeeming two of said bonus in 2 years,2 in 4 years,2 in 6 years,2
in etght years and 12 in ten years,and sato Committee is authorized to a4Ver6
sealed bids.
