At a Regular Meeting of the Mayor and Common Council of the
town of Leesburg Va.,held February 13th 1903.
Present,The Recorder and Councilmen,Hickman,Elgin, J.N.Sampsell,
Norris,Rtnker,Roll Ins, Wildman, Casey and Shroff.
The Mayor being absent oil account of sickness,the Recorder pre-
sided and appointed O.N.Casey recorder pro -tem.
The minutes of the last meeting were rcau and approved.
Resignation. of S.W.Norris as Chief of Fire Jepartment was preselitd Ale
to Council and accepted.
T.W.Edwards was duly elected Chief of Fire Department to fill
the vacancy caused by resignation of S.T.Norris.
The petition of S.H.Ball and other citizens of Leesburg to have
gates or a Flag -man stationed at the Crossing of the Railroad,was
read and on motion the same was ordered to be laid on the table
until the next meeting.
It appcarii:g that Mrs A.H.Fox has been erroneously assessea with
a water rtght,it is ordered that W*2.50 be refunded to her.
On the petition. of 0.N.Casey and other residents on North King
Street to have the water main extended ori said street and a cist-
ern placed thereon for the convenience of those who reside on
the Northern end of said Street,it is ordered that the Tater
Committee be and they are hereby authorized to have said water
main extended as far North on said Street as they deem it neces-
sary,and at the terminus thereof to have a cistern dug,and they
are ordered to make a report of the cost of Sala work to this
Council.
Htckman,Bitzer and Ccorge oruerca to be releivea from payment of
e8.00 tax on Elevator which is err^uecus.
