APPOINTMENT OF TEMPORARY CLERK Councilman Wieger was appointed by.Mayor'Florquist to function as Temporary Clerk until selection of new permai`t` Town Clerk. COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Florquist, COUNCILMEN Ernie Johnson, Darvin Welch, Frank Baker, Charles Bridge, Donald Baker, and William Wieger. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS BOARD MEETING: Were read and approved as read. REGULAR BUSINESS :AND STANDING COMMITTEE FUNCTIONS MAME COMMITTEE There was no report of the Town bank balance. The following bt3k. were presented for approval and payment: Mountain Parks Electric $89.80 q Mountain States Telephone to be received.�'f•// Andy Macklberg ‘Clorinator Service) $30.00 Broaderick Wood Country Store (Misc. supplies) $41.00 Robert Florquist (Clorinator service and snowplowing) $25.50 Motion made by Frank Baker; seconded by Charles Bridge; and unanimously passed that the bills be duly paid. WATER COMMITTEE Discussion developed conning the recent cloudy condition of the Town water. Explan�.tion advance hat the effect resulted from the washout of the emergency system. Mayor Florquistireported that he had asked Cliff Clayton to handle the situation; which would involve construction of a 4- strand barbed wire fence, and scooping off the silted sand and replacing with fresh washed sand; after the peak runoff had occurred. STREETS AND ALLEYS COMMITTEE No Activities. i OLD BUSINESS TOWN CLERK POSITION Mayor Florquist read the resignation, effective June 1, of Charlene Emal. Mayor Florquist then announced that three applications were submitted for the position. The three applicants are Cheryl Roberts Fern Conklin Minnie Cole Motion made by Frank Baker; seconded by Ernie Johnson; and unanimously passed to accept the resignation of Charlene Emal. The resignation was accepted. Discussion ensued as to the applicants, rate of pay, and details of duties. Reg- arding the definition and scope of duties, a motion was made by Welch to stipulate that in addition to the standard duties described in the Clerk's Application Form, the Clerk have the Town Hall open on a regular basis for an afternoon of 3 hours during the last week of each month. An additional stipulation is that the Town records be kept in the Town Hall except for specific items being worked on. This motion was seconded by -Frank Baker. The motion was then amended to include participation in Bofficial Town business." The ammendment was passed unanimously. The moti.on amended was then passed unanimously. Motion was then made by Ernie Johnson; seconded by Don Baker; and unanimously passed to accept the application of Fern Conklin for the combination position of Town Clerk and Billing Clerk,to be called Town Clerk, and to be paid at the rate of $100.00 Per month. Mayor Florquist then asked Darvin Welch to leave and ask Fern Conklin if she was still interested in the job, and if so for her to please come down and TOWN BOARD OF THE TOWN OF FR .MINUTES OF THE REGULAR SESSION talk with the Board this evening. Fern Conklin appeared shortly and Mayor Florquist described the situation of the,:< combination Town Clerk and. Billing Clerk jobs. He gave Fern the `perrogative of acceptance or rejection. Fern Conklin agreed to accept the combination position to be called Town Clerk. TOWN BARRACKS BUILDING Mayor Florquist related that Raymond M. Broughton had signed an agreement on May 28 to tear down the structure, remove the materials, and clean up the site within 60 days; and that he had paid the required $100.00,. He has until July 28 th have the job accomplished. NEW BUSINESS OFFICIAL POST OFFICE BOX NUMBER Motion made by Frank Baker; seconded by Darvin Welch; and unanimously passed to obtain a box number for the Town business address-: Fern Conklin was directed to secure the box. FRASER PICNIC Motion made by Ernie Johnson; seconded by Don Baker; and unanimously passed to set the picnic date as July 28, 1968. It was the consensus of the group that the Beer License has been taken care of. It was also the general opiWion that the Town Board will ramrod the affair with help from the following sources VFW Auxilary will be requested to handle food concessions.'; Fire Dept. will take care of the beer concession. Mayor Florquist will arrange to have 400 raffle tickets .p'intedt, Con- siderable discussion developed as to the scope and Character of the raffle prizes to be offered. Resulting decision was to specify on the tickets the following prize schedule; First prize 50 T -Bones Steaks. Second Prize 50 gallons of gas from, a 10011 station. Third prize 2 hams. The Jaycees would be asked for general help. ADJOURNMENT: !There'being no, furthers business, a motion was 'made by Don Baker; seconded by Frank Baker; and unanimously passed to adjourn..
