,rdinance, and his work shall he certified and reported by 11,
-uperintendent before he shall be paid by him, .und said plumb -
,r shall construct the service pipe to the curb line, including
the curb cock and box. Other work shall be done by any com-
petent plumber employed by the propertt• owner and paid by f
him, but he shall bore under all pavod streets and sidewalks t
and restore them to a good and solid condition. and for any fail-
ure to.do so he shall be fined not less than one net more tha❑
twenty dollars.
Section {. Upon the property owner complying with the
condition of Section 2, and paying the fee of---, here-
', after to be decided on,of town plumber, the Superintendent will
issue him a written permit for privilege desired, together with an
order on the town plumber to make the proper tapping and curb
connection, out the introduction of water shall in all cases he ,
made under the control of the Superintendent, and with proper
fittings as in this ordinance set forth, and approved by the
Superintendent and Water Committee, and the plumber in i
charge shall within forty-eight hours after completing the work
make report to the said Superintendent, showing exactly what
work has been done and no water turned on until said report is
made.
Section 5. No plumber shall make any addition to oralter-
ation of any fixtures connected with the water works of a char-
acter to increase the consumption of water without having first
received written permit from the Superintendent: and for ane
violation of this Section he shall he liable to a fin, of not less
than five nor more than ten dollars.
Section 6. If any consumer shall falsely represent the use
of water or number and kind of fixtures or add fixtures other
than or in addition to those reported, he shall be liahle to a fine
Of not less than one nor more than ten dollars,
Section 7. All stop cocks and boxes shall be of a uniform
Mattern and such as designated by the Superintendent and Water
Committee. All curb boxes and stops shall be located at or
near the curb line of the street. All service pipe shall be of
standard galvanized iron or other material equally as good, ap-
proved by the Superintendent. No corporation stops shall bo
lare� i than ono inch: and when a Lugs s, rvice is required two
or more stops may be used, provided they are placed not less
than ten inches apart. All service pipes shall be laid the same
depth as the street main with which they are connected.
Section 8. All service pipes must be provided with a stop
cock on the owner's premises, so that when necessary water may
be stopped without interfering with the stop box on the street
or sidewalk; access to the stop cock at the curb can only be had
by the Superintendent or his agent. Any person using said
stop cock for any purpose without the written permission of said
Superintendent or his agent shall be fined not less than one nor
more than five dollars, and any person applying for a supply of
water shall be considered thereby to waive any claim to control
over the stop box and cock, between his premises and the str,c•t
main.
Section q. No person shall use a hand hose for sprinkling
streets, lawns or gardens, or for any other purpose, with a noz-
zle exc,eding r -q inch in diameter.
Section ro. No pri vat, hydrant shall be, placed upon any '+
sidewalk, alley or other exposed place where water may be tali,”,
therefrom by persons not entitled to its use.

Section it. Parties taking water directly- from the service
Pipes under working pressure for use of steam boiler or engine,
without an intervening vessel to receive said water and from
which to pump the same, will do so at their own risk and be lia-
ble to all parties for any accidents or damages resulting from
such use.
Section 12. If ane person not acting under the authority of
the Superintendent or Water Committee shall turn the water on
any premises whatever, or if any' person shall take, receive or
use the town water before first paying the charge: therefor he
shall be fined five dollars.
Section 13. If occupier of anv lot or tenement shall fail to
notify the Superintendent when his hydrant or other fixtures are
out of order and the water wasting, he shall be fined one dollar
for each day the waste shall continue until such notification;
and if ane hydrant, cock or other fixture is found leaking and
the owner- or occupiur of the premises shall Lail to have the nec-
essary repairs made, the superintendent shall rut off the water
from such premises, and anv person who shall.turn on the water
before such repairs are made ;and the Sup,rinte ndent's permis.

Section t-. Bvery person occupying anv lot or tenement

Section r8. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons
to injure, deface or destroy any of the pipe lines or any part of
the water system of this town, or to open, close, injure, deface
or d,strov anv cock, wheel, fire plug, gate, gate -calve, or ane
oth,r ficture connected with or pertaining to th, water works of

Section 2. Persons supplied with water may discontinue
the use thereof by giving the Superitendent notice in writing
fifteen days before the expiration of the time paid for. If any
Person who is taking; water at a house removes therefrom III'
shall give notice thereof on or before the day of his removal,
and if he fails to do so he shall be fineid not less than one nor
more than five dollars.
Section 3. Persons desiring ,voter for building Purposes
shall apply therefor to the Superintendent, who shall make
assessment for such water according to the rates hercinaRor
fixed, and the water%hall not bo turned on for such purpose
until said assessment is Paid; and if in the opinion of the Super
intendant such assessment is exceeded lie shall mak,- farther

annual.tennthe Town Sergeant shall present to lite Superin-
tendent a statement showing who has and who has not paid the
water tax for the ensuing six months, and the Superintendent
shall have water immediately cut off from all lots or tenements
for which said water rent has not been paid. When water has
been so cut off a fee of one dollar shall be paid to the Town
Sergeant before the supply shall be again turned. on.
Section 6. If any bill be unpaid for fifteen days after the
same is due a penalty of five per cent shall be added and the
same collected by the Town Sergeant as all taxes and docs are
collected.
Section i. Parties using town water shall pay the proper
assessment on all fixtures connected with the town pipes,
whether they be in use or not, and if they wish to discontinue
the use of any and berclievad of assessment therefor fit, v must
first have the same disconnected and furnish the Still( rint,:ud-
ent with satisfactory proof of such disconnection within ten
daps- Fixtures so disconnected shall not be assessed so long
as they remain disconnected.
Section 8. The taxes imposed by this ordinance includ',
the use of water for Protection against fit.
Section 9. The annual water rates of this town ^...'1 b
follows until otherwise ordered by the Council, said tr,
hereby reserved by the Council to raise or lower them at arc
time after the expiration of the period paid in advance. N
single right for any purpose except building as aforesaid shall
he granted for a less sum than five dollars per annual.
